Why does The Crypto Register publish migration guides?

From , Article 59 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 makes it unlawful to provide crypto-asset services to EEA residents without MiCA authorisation. For the 15 exchanges in our index that are not in the ESMA register today, EEA-resident users face a forced transition. These guides exist to make that transition predictable: status check, alternatives, step-by-step migration, and the pitfalls to avoid. Source: Regulation (EU) 2023/1114, Article 59.

What is in each migration guide?

Every guide has the same structure: the exchange's current MiCA status with primary-source links, three decision questions to determine whether and when to migrate, three to four authorised alternatives ranked by service overlap, a five-step migration process (verify entity, choose destination, run small test, bulk-migrate, close account), a list of common pitfalls drawn from public transition reports, and an FAQ covering edge cases. What is not in these guides?

These guides are informational, not financial or legal advice. They do not recommend specific assets to hold, do not endorse specific destinations, and are not paid placements - The Crypto Register has no commercial relationship with any listed exchange. The lists of alternatives are derived solely from the ESMA register and ranked by service overlap. Consult a financial or tax advisor for portfolio-specific decisions. Source:.
