About AS LHV Pank
AS LHV Pank is a licensed Estonian bank, not a standalone consumer crypto exchange. It is part of LHV Group, an Estonian financial group founded in 1999 as an investment firm, with the bank itself established in 2009 and headquartered in Tallinn. The bank holds a credit institution licence issued on 6 May 2009 and offers crypto-asset services to its existing banking customers through its mobile and internet bank, rather than as a separate trading app. Sources: LHV Pank, TheBanks.eu bank profile
According to LHV's own crypto disclosures, the service covers multi-asset spot trading (around 15 popular assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Uniswap, Chainlink, Stellar, Polygon and Aave), custody of crypto assets held free of charge, and the reception and transmission of orders on a 24/7 basis. LHV states that transactions carry a 0.5% fee while holding and account operations are free. The bank reports that it does not currently offer savings or DCA, staking, or card products tied to crypto. Source: LHV information on crypto-asset services
On the licensing question: the contracting legal entity is AS LHV Pank, supervised by Estonia's Finantsinspektsioon (the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority). LHV reports that it received a MiCA crypto-asset service provider (CASP) authorisation on 18 May 2026, which it describes as making it the first bank in Estonia authorised under MiCA to provide crypto-asset services across the EU. The MiCA authorisation covers the crypto-asset services LHV provides, namely spot trading, custody and the reception and transmission of orders; the available research does not identify any further MiCA service categories, and LHV does not currently advertise staking or card services under this licence. What does this mean for users of AS LHV Pank in the EU?
If you transact through AS LHV Pank's EEA-authorised entity (AS LHV Pank), the protections introduced by MiCA apply to your relationship from onwards.
