About NorthCrypto

NorthCrypto is a Finnish retail crypto-asset trading platform operated by NorthCrypto Oy, headquartered in Turku, Finland. According to research summarising the company's own disclosures, NorthCrypto Oy was founded in 2018 and is a subsidiary of the Swedish GreenMerc AB group, which is listed on the Nordic Growth Market. The platform lets users buy, sell and store cryptocurrencies, and NorthCrypto states on its website that it offers more than 250 to 260 different crypto-assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana and the stablecoin USDC. The service is aimed at euro-area retail investors. NorthCrypto reports that customers fund their accounts by bank transfer from a Finnish or European bank and can verify their identity using online banking credentials. It also describes a recurring-purchase feature for automated weekly or monthly crypto savings, and offers cold-wallet storage in which it holds customer assets in offline wallets on their behalf. A separate NorthCrypto Private service is offered to clients with at least 100,000 euros in investable wealth and, per the company, includes the ability to earn yield on crypto investments. NorthCrypto describes its trading fees as starting at 1.0% and falling toward 0.6% for active traders. These are the company's own descriptions of its product. On the legal point, the contracting entity is NorthCrypto Oy, supervised in Finland by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanssivalvonta, FIN-FSA). NorthCrypto states on its website that it has received a MiCA-compliant crypto-asset service provider (CASP) licence from the FIN-FSA. Under the ESMA register data used for this profile, the MiCA authorisation covers the provision of custody and administration of crypto-assets on behalf of clients. It does not, on that data, extend to other distinct MiCA services such as operating a trading platform, exchange of crypto-assets for funds or for other crypto-assets, execution or reception and transmission of orders, placing, advice or portfolio management. Anyone relying on the licence should confirm the current scope directly with the FIN-FSA, as a MiCA authorisation lists the specific services it permits. Is NorthCrypto licensed under MiCA?

Yes. NorthCrypto appears in the ESMA Register of MiCA-Authorised Crypto-Asset Service Providers, with its authorisation issued by the competent authority of Finland.

Which EU countries can NorthCrypto serve under this licence?

A MiCA authorisation in one EEA member state permits passporting across all EEA member states, subject to a notification process to each host-state regulator.
